Columbia College is a unique institution offering different programs to meet the variety of educational needs of students. The day/residential program, offered only on the home campus, is a good choice for recent high school graduates or transfer students. This option provides a full- time education and comprehensive college life experience for students interested in the traditional college choice.  Scholarship opportunities and competitive tuition make the day program particularly attractive.

Adult learner programs are offered in the evening at the home campus in Columbia, Missouri as well as more than 25 locations around the country. These programs are designed with the working adult in mind and offer both flexibility and convenience while maintaining a quality academic experience.

In 1996, another moment of history was made when Columbia College began offering graduate degrees. Today three master’s programs, Master of Business Administration, Master of Arts in Teaching and Master of Science in Criminal Justice, provide educational opportunities for students interested in career advancement and professional development.

Preparing to celebrate our sesquicentennial birthday in 2001, Columbia College has a tradition of excellence since its founding in 1851. Originally founded as Christian Female College, it was the first women’s college chartered by a state legislature west of the Mississippi River. In 1970, the college changed both its name and its student population, becoming Columbia College, a co-educational four-year institution. Although it retains a covenant with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Columbia College is a nonsectarian institution. The college is fully accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and holds specialized accreditation in education, nursing and social work.

The home campus is located in Columbia, Missouri, a metropolitan area of 120,000 on Interstate Highway 70 halfway between Kansas City and St. Louis. The campus sits on 30 acres in a park-like setting located just a few blocks from downtown Columbia. Come visit us and see for yourself why Columbia College is known as a Homeschool Friendly College.
