A private, liberal arts
and professional institution, Ashland University features a
strong academic program that follows the school's philosophy of
"Accent on the Individual." This means students can
expect personal attention before, during and after class from
professors who genuinely care about their progress. Professors,
not graduate assistants, teach the classes and labs.
Ashland University offers nearly 70 majors
including toxicology/environmental science, athletic training,
radio/TV and hotel/restaurant management, which are unusual for
an institution this size. |
|
| Ashland is one of a limited number of
private schools in the country -- and the only one in Ohio --
offering a hotel and restaurant major that concentrates on
management and is among only a few institutions in the country
offering a bachelor of science degree in toxicology. |
|
 |
In addition, Ashland's academic program offers
most traditional liberal arts majors as well as a wide range of
majors in business and education. The education program, which
offers pre-K through doctorate level courses, is one of the
largest among private higher education institutions in the
country.
Ashland and its programs are accredited by the North Central
Association of Colleges and Schools, Association of Collegiate
Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), National Council for
Accreditation of Teacher Education, National Association of
Schools of Music, The National League for Nursing, Council on
Social Work Education and American Chemical Society.
|
|
Ashland's College of Business was the first private school in Ohio to
gain accreditation under the stringent standards established by ACBSP
and the only higher education institution in the country to have
satisfied the requirement for simultaneous accredi tation of three
degree programs: master of business administration, bachelor of arts in
business administration and bachelor of science in business
administration.
Undergraduate degree offerings include associate of arts, bachelor of
arts, bachelor of music, bachelor of science, bachelor of science in
business administration, bachelor of science in education, bachelor of
