New College is a revolutionary concept in higher education. Students begin each semester on Norwich's campus in Montpelier, Vermont. After two weeks, students leave the physical campus and connect to the New College extended campus from anywhere in the world through a notebook computer and a connection to the internet.

Through this extended campus, students participate in the online seminar, exchange ideas through substantial and in-depth discussion and dialogue with faculty and other students, and access resources to complete their independent study.

The portability of the notebook computer enables students to stay connected to the extended campus and travel in the real world to learn from experience. Activities such as internships, volunteer work, and cross cultural experiences become part of students' studies. Instruction is individualized and delivered through faculty mentors. New College is for serious college-age students who desire a high quality education at reasonable cost.
